Following last years successful event, Ferring Country Centre are organising their “5 ‘n’ 5” and kids run on trails, the sea front and quiet roads around Ferring Rife. The Rife, (or stream) runs from the Country Centre down to the sea at East Preston between Worthing and Littlehampton.  This is a very flat and fast course.

A Friday evening run is a great excuse to knock off early and head down to the seaside for a chilled out run. This is a charity event with all profit going directly to the Ferring Country Centre. Organising the run itself will be Raw Energy Pursuits Ltd who will be using volunteers from the centre. By starting at 6:30pm on a summer evening, it’s a great way to unwind before the weekend. Entry fee includes a medal and free photos. Please come and join us.

At Ferring Country Centre, our 32‑acre site brings together a riding school, garden centre, café, soft play, gift shop and farm — but what truly makes this place special is the purpose behind it. For 40 years, we’ve been a safe, supportive space where people with learning disabilities can discover new skills, build confidence and shine. From woodwork and gardening to riding therapy and cooking, every day offers an opportunity to learn, to connect and to grow. And when you spend time with us — whether buying plants, visiting the animals, enjoying a coffee or simply walking the site — you’re directly supporting this work.

2026 marks our 40th Anniversary and we’re inviting our community to give, share and grow One Thing — a moment, a skill, a kindness — to help people with learning disabilities flourish in their own way. One Thing reminds us that meaningful change doesn’t have to start big; it starts with one human act. One moment of patience. One shared skill. Every visit, every interaction, every one thing you choose to give helps someone at Ferring Country Centre to grow.

Could your ‘One Thing’ be entering the Ferring 5’n’5? Join us in making this year extraordinary — and help us continue making a difference for the next 40 years and beyond.
