A stunning and picturesque run on the South Downs from the team at Raw Running is set to take place on Sunday July 26th 2020. The venue for the event will be at Cowdown, a private farm on top of the downs close to Washington, West Sussex (RH20 4BA). For 2020 we’ll have a new 10km Trail Run together with our 10-mile Trail Run and some of the best views around stretching as far out to sea as the Rampion Wind Farm and the Norths Downs and Surrey Hills to the north. It’s not actually a dawn start, but it’ll be earlier than most other runs to avoid the midday sun if it shines. If our other runs are anything to go by then this is likely to be very popular.
Part of your entry fee will go towards supporting Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice. They are a children’s charity providing hospice care services and community support for children and young people with progressive life-shortening conditions throughout West & East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and South East Hampshire. The Highden Estate donated their event hire fee to the charity last year.
As it’s an earlier than normal start there’ll be complimentary tea and coffee before the race. We’ll also have a coffee barista there and some great food and drinks after the event. The Protein Ball Co are one of our partners and will be at the event and to keep the kids entertained while you’re out running you can explore the countryside or take advantage of the free face painting!
Competitor race numbers will be posted out the week before the event. There is no need to register unless you have forgotten your race number. The registration marquee will be in the main event field (Cowdown) which is where car parking and the start and finish are located. Portable toilets will be also be at this location.
Breaking from our Raw Energy tradition, we’ll also be providing bespoke medals, free hot drinks, free face-painting for the kids and as normal, free unlimited race photographs from Sussex Sport Photography
