River Arun Waterfront Festival – Littlehampton | 2017 date to be confirmed
Event date to be confirmed – Online entries not open.
The 2017 event is another chance to swim 1.5km or 3km in the crystal clear waters of the River Arun in the mouth of the river at Littlehampton. The River Arun runs from Littlehampton and northwards beyond Arundel and Pulborough, West Sussex. The Arun has the second fastest tidal river in the UK so there’s a good chance you’ll achieve a Personal Best! The exact start time will be dependent on conditions of the river flow and in consultation with the Harbour Master who will control other river traffic. The start & finish will be at the RNLI slipway at the mouth of the river during the 30 minute period of ‘slack’ water, before the tide starts to turn. All the usual REP safety cover will be provided including the Harbour Masters launch, pilot boat, kayaks and spotters on the river bank.
Race HQ is the RNLI Lifeboat Station in Surrey Street, Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17 3BL. The registration and finish will all be at this location. Littlehampton is about 16 miles west of Brighton and 8 miles east of Chichester.
Registration will take place close to the RNLI Station at a time to be confirmed. Once again, please leave plenty of time to park as the town and quay will be busy – there are numerous car parks in and around the town.
Collect your swim cap and familiarise yourself with the course. You will also need to have your race number written on your hand. You must attend the compulsory race briefing which will take place at the RNLI.
