SPRINT TRI STARTS AT 06:30 | STANDARD & RELAY TRI FROM 06:45
The race is located near the Yacht Club at Goring Beach, Worthing, which is between Brighton & Chichester in West Sussex. Our popular Man v Woman challenge in the Standard Race is back on for 2017; this is where the first across the line wins an overall cash prime to add to excitement. The sea quality has been excellent over the last 14 years. The tides and currents can affect swim times. This is a Standard & Sprint distance triathlon with a 1.5km/750m Sea Swim, 41km/21km undulating bike and 10km/5km promenade run, with the option of a Relay Triathlon. The bike course is undulating with no significant hills but a long drag out of the town to the turn round before a fast return leg. The run is dead flat on the promenade. The race HQ is on a large expanse of grass adjacent to the beach which is regularly used by Kite Surfers, this is where the Catering Marquees and Trade Stands will be situated. The Sprint Triathlon starts first followed by the Standard/Relay in a number of waves.
The event will be based by the Alinora Boat Ramp, Goring to the West of Worthing near the Yacht Club (Postcode BN12 4JE). Registration, transition and finish will all be at this location. Worthing is about 12 miles west of Brighton and 15 miles east of Chichester, West Sussex.
Please try and register on Saturday if possible as this will cut down time on Sunday morning bearing in mind the race starts early. You will need to show your BTF Licence at registration. If you do not have it you will need to purchase a Day Licence for £4. There are no exceptions.
If you are not a member of the BTF you should have already paid the £4 when you entered. Collect your race number, bike number, helmet number, swim cap and T Shirt and familiarise yourself with the course. The race WILL start on time, so if you intend to register on Sunday, please make sure you have registered and have your bike racked and kit all ready for the race. You need to be present for the race briefing at 7:10am for the Sprint, Standard & Relay Triathlons.
